"On Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, Manpower organized a panel discussion on the topic ""Human and Business Aspects of Business Inclusion.""
Speaking about the importance of inclusion, social integration, diversity, economic benefits, as well as the challenges associated with inclusivity were:
Marija Škrbić Dražić, Coordinator for Community Development & Social Responsibility;
Milica Mišković, Program Manager, Forum for Responsible Business;
Bojana Pavlović, PhD student at the University of Belgrade.
The panel discussion was moderated by Marina Kreculj Pešić, Regional People Development Manager, Assert International.
Some of the key questions addressed during the panel discussion were how business inclusion, or social integration more broadly, positively impacts the entire stakeholder chain, as well as who these stakeholders are. We also discussed the benefits and added value that employers, aside from the human aspect, can achieve.
For example, research has shown that managing diversity and inclusion within companies and leadership teams can increase revenue by 19 percent due to the innovation diversity brings. Companies with above-average levels of diversity have achieved 45% of revenue from innovation, compared to 26% of revenue from innovation for companies with lower levels of diversity.*
It's important to note that although 90% of companies claim to prioritize diversity, only 4% of the business community is focused on offerings that are inclusive when it comes to disabilities.**
The panelists concluded the discussion with concrete suggestions for employers on the first steps towards increasing inclusivity.
With the ""Business Inclusion"" project, we have initiated a very important topic with the idea of empowering candidates for employment on one hand, while aiming for greater inclusion and awareness among the business community on the other hand, all with the ultimate goal of promoting equality, inclusion, and diversity. Thanks to continuous work with marginalized groups in the labor market, we had the opportunity to conduct research and disseminate the results of the first cycle of the mentioned project.
