"The reduction of the lifespan of companies, rapid technological advancement, the increase in the value of intellectual over material property in the balance sheets of companies, virtual teams, and high employee turnover indicate a business complexity that is new to all of us. Digital transformation is a must-have, but most companies struggle in different ways with its implementation.
One of the novelties it brings is the trend of involving IT profiles in the process of making strategic decisions because IT profiles naturally have the ability to ""see technically further"" and more clearly. These changes require adaptation and adjustment by both traditional managers and IT profiles.
It also requires process innovation and organizational structure, strengthening digital literacy of traditional managerial structures, as well as better understanding of business by IT profiles and their upskilling in soft skills and management.
We ask ourselves: Is an independent ""Digital"" level (""D-level"") management necessary for the ""Digital"" revolution, which will synchronize all market trends with an efficient strategy and actions alongside ""C-level"" management?
For the panel discussion Leadership through the prism of ""D(igital) level"" management, we invited:
Our panelists discussed two-way motivation, on the one hand - how to motivate managers with traditional skills to deepen their understanding of digitalization and thus improve communication with IT profiles, and on the other hand - what would encourage IT experts to develop in the field of people management, strategy creation, and decision-making. In addition, we discussed the degree of business digitalization and the success of companies' digital transition, IT candidate recruitment, ""people without borders""...
After a very interesting discussion and audience questions, we had the opportunity to close this year's EmpowerIT project with presentations of innovative IT solutions from participant teams and select the winner.
The EmpowerIT challenge was launched to support the development of innovations and socially responsible business. Teams from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and other IT-oriented faculties competed in creating an innovative IT solution that the humanitarian organization Center for Youth Integration would use as a tool to raise funds for meals for users of the Shelter for Children. In addition to the humane goal, this competition provides IT and business students with the opportunity to apply and improve their knowledge and skills through solving concrete problems. The project implementation was supported by partners of the company Levi9, TPA Serbia, Assert International, and the law firm Gecić Law. The strategic partners of the project are the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and the student organization FONIS.
The winner of the project is the team 3 pixels with their Check&Connect application.
See you next year!"
